Owner’s Guide to Discoid Lupus in Dogs
Discoid lupus in dogs is an autoimmune condition that results in discoloration of the nose. In rare cases, it can also affect other areas of the skin. Professionals have yet to find a specific cause for this problem, but genetics may play a role due to the fact that certain breeds as more affected than others. Some of these breeds include Siberian Husky, German Shepherd, and Collie.
Symptoms
As you already know, this condition begins as loss of pigment around the nose. As the disease gets worse, your dog may develop scaling of nasal tissue and sores. The nose’s surface may also become smooth instead of having it’s normal cobblestoned texture. These sores aren’t bothersome to some dogs, but others are very bothered by them.
Diagnosis
Discoid lupus in dogs causes symptoms that mimic other diseases. They include ringworm and different types of dermatitis, especially solar dermatitis. In order to diagnose this disease accurately, the veterinarian will have to perform a biopsy of tissue from the affected area.
Treatment
Treatment of this condition will depend on how advanced it is. Mild cases can usually be treated using a strong, topical ointment. Severe cases of discoid lupus have to be treated with corticosteroids. It may also be useful to supplement your dog’s diet with vitamin E. However, you should be aware that any benefits of vitamin E supplementation will take months to take effect.
As mentioned earlier, discoid lupus in dogs causes sores to form on your dog’s nose. Ultraviolet light only makes these sores worse. Therefore, you should try to limit your dog’s exposure to ultraviolet light. This is especially important during the summer months. Applying sunscreen to your dog’s nose will help, but you need to make sure he doesn’t rub it off.
Discoid lupus is just one of many illnesses that can affect your dog. There are many others such as dog Cushing’s disease and congestive heart failure. My Best Chauffeur in Seattle!
I always enjoy riding with my father. As a chauffeur in a company that offers transportation service in Seattle, he provides a transportation tour everyday even in Bellevue. He is a very dedicated chauffeur that is why his clients are so fond of him. His fellow chauffeurs often tease him that he is the finest chauffeur for an airport town car service in Seattle. Even in the entire SeaTac airport transportation, his expertise is highly acknowledged.
I highly regard my father not only because my life stemmed from him but also because he serves as a good role model to my siblings and me. I even tell my classmates that if ever they would need an airport transportation in SeaTac, my dad would be more than happy to drive them.
I haven’t experienced riding with Dad before this wonderful surprise came one day.
It was early Saturday evening, I was happily playing with our Siberian husky named Kara when Dad arrived home. It was weird to see him arrive in the company car that he drives at work.
I approached him and planted a kiss on his cheek before he asked if I wanted to come with him.
‘Where are we going, Dad?’ I asked. He said he wants me to join him in a joyride in the city.
My eyes widened in excitement. I screamed in delight! At last we could travel together. I wasted no time and immediately ran toward the bathroom to freshen up. I even forgot to say goodbye to Kara. I hope she understood.
I picked my best outdoor clothes, combed my long hair and put on some cologne. When I was finally done, I hurriedly ran down the stairs and looked for Dad.
As Dad started the engine, my mind also started to fill with nice pictures and sceneries. He interrupted my thoughts as he asked if I am ready to go.
As he managed to steer the wheel, I kept my eyes glued on the picturesque view on the side road. The night is perfect with glittering lights and animated people in every establishment. The sky appears to be a black mantle ornamented with flickering stars. All these things filled my head as I enjoyed the ride!
After long hours of riding around the city, we got hungry. We parked the car outside a food chain nearby and hurried inside to get something to eat.
Sizzling steak, mi favorito! Dad’s another super ability is being able to detect what makes me happy. This always amazes me!
After dinner, we headed for home. What a wonderful journey with the most person in my life.

Dog Breeds And Their Characteristics
A lot of people do not take this into account when they adopt or buy a dog as in most people go for a certain breed of dog because of its size, popularity, the dogs appearance etc. When choosing a dog the decision should be based particularly on the breed of the dog because of the characteristics they inherit. Also every dog is different some dogs are more stubborn than others and other dogs more easier to train the others. There are also different types of intelligence such as:
Learning ability – if dogs have a good learning ability they may only need to be exposed to a situation a few times to get a stable response e.g. knowing where their toys are kept and running to the place when playful.
Problem solving – the faster a dog solves a problem with as little errors at the start
Communication intelligence – the dogs understanding of what he needs to do the dogs willingness to take directions and not be distracted
And instinctive intelligence – this intelligence is normally bred in to dogs by combining different qualities from each breed.
Here are a few dogs with good characteristics keeping in mind that all dogs can be good and make great family pets, just some are more suited to it naturally than others.
The wire haired fox terrier – this is a small but very active and lively dog, they have perfect balance, they are alert, are very quick in movement. Wired haired terriers are very friendly dogs who are forthcoming and fearless.
.
Basset Griffon Vendeen – this dog is a strong, active and courageous hound with great stamina and great bark to go with it. These dogs are happy and outgoing but they can be a little stubborn and easily agitated however they are willing to please with firm handling.
Greyhound – these dogs have remarkable stamina and endurance so they require a lot of exercise, they are also very intelligent, gentle, affectionate and even tempered a great family dog and very easy to train..
Siberian Husky – these dogs make very good companions they are friendly and gentle, alert, outgoing, intelligent and very eager. These dogs are good to train as they are willing to learn and work.
In a study showing the breeds of dogs which are smartest, easiest to train and have great willingness to work and obey formed a list from best to worse and in first place was the border collie, the list is as follows:
1. Border collie
2. Poodle
3. German shepherd
4. Golden retriever
5. Doberman
6. Shetland sheepdog

And the least intelligent were:

2. Basenji
3. Bulldog
4. Chow chow
