I HAVE 2 LABS THAT WERE NO LONGER CONTAINED IN THE BACKYARD WITH ONLY THE FENCE. I INVESTED IN A WIRELESS CONTAINMENT SYSTEM & NEEDED AN EXTRA COLLAR. I FOUND SUCH AN ITEM ON YOUR WEBPAGE AND MY PETS ARE NOW SAFE & SECURE

  4. The Petsafe wireless fence system is ideal for my family. However, Petsafe knows that they have us over a barrel. The system is a simple transmitter/receiver setup but is has been made unnecessarily expensive. The system is not cheap, however, the fact that any additional collars are at a minimum of $120 and the batteries, that you will need to change every 6 weeks or so, are expensive – and exclusive, of course.

This is a wonderful alternative to having to fence in your yard to contain your pet, but you need to realize that it is an ongoing, not insignificant expense. I will be glad when Petsafe has some competition out there and are forced to bring their product more reasonably priced.

I bought the Petsafe wireless fence and an additional collar with high expectations only to be disappointed by the whole experience. The two collars I had (one came with unit) did not activate at anywhere near the same locations and actually beeped while sitting on a table not in use.

While talking to customer service, I found out the units have to be set just so in order to work with each unit. The only way to get this information is to call them when I don’t see any reason it could not have been spelled out in the manual. One of the customer service reps was very helpful with quidance on what to try and another rep had no idea what was going on so I gave up and returned all the wireless fence hardware. I am now installing an invisible fence with the wire running underground because it works much more precise.

Why I had so much trouble I don’t know because I talked to a few coworkers who the unit did work for. They may have just lucked out, only had one collar to adjust, or had less interference than where I am located.
