First of all, I have the Pet Gear soft sided zippable kennel which works great. It’s lightweight, folds easily, and is quiet in the car. The zippers will wear out after a year or two which seems reasonable to me.

This product is like the above review on opposite day!

Its so loud in the car that your ears will be begging to hear the whomp whomp sound that an open sunroof makes on the highway at high speeds.

The construction is so cheap that you can bet your life that it was designed by booby trap experts attempting to kill your precious cargo.

Oh, and the fold flat convenient travel size. This thing is designed to be a cruise ship anchor.

MOVE away from a product that promises misery from the moment you unwrap it and throw the box away assuring no returns from Amazon.

My boyfriend and I find this crate to be just what we needed. As far as portability goes, it cant get any better! So far we havent had any problems with them (we have two). The ONLY thing that it needs in order to be perfect is a latch to secure it when its closed. It works just fine without it though… As far as quality goes, it IS just plastic and metal… literally, but our two destroyers (german shorthaired pointer and weimaraner) havent been able to break them yet. Basically if youre looking for portability (that doesnt include the fabric crates) and durability, this one is for you!

I bought this item in size Large. It is listed on the manufacturer’s website as being 31″ high. It is NOT. Upon contacting them, they say it is a typo and it is indeed only 27″ high. Which was too short for our dog. He could not stand up in it. That is the same height as a medium crate! The breeds listed on the box that it is recommended for could not stand up in it either. Customer service at PetGear was lacking also. No apology for their typo nor compensation for a crate that is going to cost a fortune to return to the online retailer where purchased. Eventually they will correct the typo—but if you have a tall dog or a dog that likes to stand up in his crate, keep in mind that this one is very very short for a large dog.

We bought this crate for our 6 month old lab female. Within a week, she had pushed through both the front and back door, breaking the flimsy tabs and rendering the entire thing useless. We now have a bungee cord around the door until we can find something more secure. If you have a dog that doesn’t try to escape AT ALL, this may be a nice crate, but any amount of strength will break it. Complete waste of money for us.

This is an excellent concept for a dog crate. It is a hard plastic material so my dog cannot dig out of it or rip soft cloth and folds to close. We were very excited to use it.

However, after purchase, we observed with trepidation that the plastic locks and snaps seemed light-weight and un-sturdy. Sure enough, after two uses, one of the main locks broke off.

Second, while it collapses down, there is no way to secure it in the down position. It has a handle and wheels, but if you attempt to roll it, it will unfold like an accordion.

We were very disappointed with this product, as it held such potential.
