How long does it take for a Husky to mature?

I have a 1-year old husky a 2-year old chihuahua and an 11 year old border collie. We got them all as puppies. It seems, though, that the husky has the maturity level of a 6-month old puppy. He’s housebroken and knows simple commands, but beyond that, he just doesn’t “get it.” It seems he has a hard time communicating in dog language (ex. he tries to play with our elderly dog, even after the elderly dog has made it clear he’s not in the mood to play). I read somewhere that huskies take a looong time to mature, such as 3 or 4 years. Is this true? Will our husky get better with age?
Let me clarify: he is not hyper, at least not compared to the chihuahua! By maturity, I mean he acts clumsy, he plays roughly and acts dopey in general. He doesn’t respond to punishment, even when we catch him in the act and respond negatively to the behavior we want him to stop. He doesn’t seem to connect the act with the punishment. That is what I mean by maturity level.

Huskies are a very hyper breed. It may take a while for him to “calm down”. Most large breeds mature at 2 years though
Some dogs never grow up. I have known dogs that are still puppies at age 15.
I have a female husky who is going on 3 years old. She is very high strung. I have bred her, and she was an excellent mother. Her puppies are about 9 months old now, and for the most part, they are just as high strung. There were 2 males in the litter, and they are as different as night and day. The one is laid back, easy going, and the other is high strung, just like his mother (and father). I think dogs are alot like people. You never know what kind of personality they are going to have. Has he been neutered? Sometimes I think this can help. Please don’t give up on him.
its true huskies do take some time but actually i have a huskie my self she is nine months old and she had puppies two weeks ago she totally changed she is much more calm and she is a great and loving mother to her puppies she used to be so hyper and she would only sit when we had a treat in our hands she was so stubborn and she would jump on me and on day she knocked me down when i was going to feed her not on purpose she was happy i was going to feed her and she jumped and i fell and hurt my elbow and ankle she is really strong. but anyway after she had her puppies she totally changed she is great. just give it some time be patient and give her alot of attention take your dog for walks or runs play with her so she can get all her energy out. they really are great dogs and they are very smart good luck!
