Hence why they are on a "team" with racing. I'd HIGHLY recommend a different breed seeing as you have a senior dog and a small dog. Siberians are very hyperactive. They are active, chewers, they can be agressive-- so please think it over carefully. if you have an older lab then I wouldn't get one because huskies play ROUGH. I would wait till he passes them get a pair as huskies like to be in pairs but they are hard to keep in a fence, dont do well in a house, and well they require a LOT of work. Then when that one is 3 years old decide if you want to go through that again. LOL Our husky puppy was a complete handful until he was about 3 and started to calm down a bit. Huskies are great dogs, but need very experienced handlers. Even those handlers would probably pull their hair out with two Husky puppies. They have a high prey drive and could easily drag their owners on a walk after a squirrel if not properly trained. They can become destructive when bored and are notorious escape artists. They can be good companions, but only in the hands of the right kind of owner. If you're still dead set on a Husky, search petfinder.com for an adult Husky. Some dogs live in foster homes, which means the dog will have undergone basic obedience training and been housebroken. The foster caretaker will be able to let you know how the dog is in the home and with other dogs. More mature Huskies will be out of the hyper, puppy phrase, but will still need to be mentally and physically challenged daily to keep it happy and balanced.
