How much should my Husky be walked daily?

I currently have a 5month old Siberian Husky. I mainly walk her on my bike but I’m wondering for how long should and for how long will she need to when she grows up. Also we are getting a fence soon so will having a fence and letting her outside to run around could also be considered as “walking”?

at least a 45 minute jog everyday. With a dog this young you should take it slow and when he gets a little older then you can start running longer distances with him
No, even if you have a large fenced in yard, get her out and show her off! Walking your dog acclimates her to being around the public and other animals and just the sounds of everyday neighborhood life. You can also use the walks to keep her nails down – the concrete acts as a nail file. So – I recommend that you keep her on her walk and play with her in the backyard. You will have one happy and well adjusted dog!
what a cute dog =)
we have a Tibetan Terrier (now 14 months) and we walk him 2 times a day and play with him inside and outside. for your dog, i would probably do the same, but only take her on long walks. even if you walk her, she still needs to run around off the leash so she can have her freedom!
good luck with her =)
4-5 times a daily
at least 45 minutes, and if u have the time twice a day….once in the morning and at night.
First off: Don´t let her run at the bike with only 5 months!!!!!!!! That can ruin her hips and her bones for the rest of her life. Walking a dog by bike is not recommended before the age of 12 months!
When she is grown up she will love it and you can start training her commands for when she is old enough right away. (Like “turn left”, “turn right” for changing directions, “easy” to slow her down, “stop” – of course you can use whatever word you want for the things. But believe me it helps a lot to have these commands!)
As long as she isn´t fully grown I would say that she need 2-3 longer walks a day – like 30 minutes. When she gets older you can walk her longer. And when she is grown I would say 1hour at the bike at least plus 1 or 2 walks (30-60 minutes) a day. And letting her in the fenced in yard – well as long as she moves there (playing with you and / or a toy) – yes that is also a way to let energy out. (But not if she is out there on her own and just lays down to wait what will happen next.)
No putting your dog outside in the garden is not considered a replacement for walking. Don’t take her on strenuous exercise until she is at least a year old, you could damage her. When she gets older you will need to try and cover at least 5 miles a day minimum. Siberian Huskies can travel amazingly long distances, and whilst pulling a sled! If you had time it would be cool to train her to pull a cart (make sure you get one specifically designed for dogs with a properly fitted harness), but running alongside your bike is good exercise too. I take my boxers (and any other dog who is staying, large or small) on about 10 miles a day of running and walking. They also have a pool to cool off in and a massive back yard to play in. You have to be aware of the exercise requirements when buying a breed, your husky will be able to cover 10 miles in a day easily and be up for more. So in a nutshell, once she gets to a year old try to do one hour in the morning, one at lunch and one before dinner, with more if you have the time. It goes without saying that you should build up the amount she runs per day gradually.
My dogs go 2-3 miles a day. It’s not so much as how long as to how far. They are bred to run distance so the further the better. As long as he is on a nice diet and provided water when needed, he’ll be fine.
Dogs need to stimulate their brain as well when they are walking/running. Running around in a fenced in yard they potty in every single day is not very stimulating. Sure it may tire them out but they need both.
