My significant other and I are planning on getting two dogs; a husky and another smaller dog. What breed of dog do you think we should get along with the husky?

An Alaskan Klee Kai is a miniature husky. However, it’s kind of an elitist snob’s dog if you live in California.

They’re also hard to get. I’d say get a Shiba Inu. They are neat too.

Huskies are very playful and can be rough. I have a husky, German Sheppard and a Jack Russell. The Husky and the GSD get on well and play all day but the Jack Russell gets tired and then gets irritated when the Husky wants to play and they start bickering. So unless you get a very energetic small dog you may have problems.

I’d say a pomeranian, because they were bred down from sled dogs.

Try a Keeshond.I think that is how its spelled.Keeshonds are a bit smaller then huskys but alot smarter

Siberians tend to get along with any other dog — even small ones when raised with them.

Personally, I have Standard Dachshunds — they’re pretty sturdy. But I know people who have Whippets and Siberians, as well as Shiba Inu and Siberians, and one of the regulars in this forum has a Papillon and a Siberian.

If you’re asking about physically complementing, then I guess you could go with any smaller, spitz-type dog.

I have to stress — especially if you choose a Toy Breed — it’s a good idea to get the smaller dog first, and then raise the Siberian with it from a puppy. Too many adult Siberians think that the smaller breed dog is a chew toy, if it’s brought into the family later (my Siberians who were around before the Dachshunds would love to eat them).
