They are both spitz breeds which is why they have similar features but shibas are a Japanese breed (not for herding though…actually bred as a hunting type dog but, as most, is typically a companion dog these days).
Huskys may remind you of Shibas but they r not that related Shibas are sheep hearding dogs from the mountains of China and Japan i have Two of them Huskys are more demestic then Alasckan Mailumets that why ppl get them instead there is almost no connection between the husky and shiba.
