i have a wolf husky mix and she doesnt seem to be a problem while whe is outside alone. when we add our other dogs she becomes the pack leader and wanders but always comes home. excellent dog i would not trade her for anything. easily the best dog i have ever had
best to keep her on a leash if your at a local dog park… In the woods its a different story.. Let her loose. She wouldnt go anywhere and if she does ,, she will be back shortly..
Regards,
My recommendation for a hybrid is get a female.. They are sweet and tender ,, but want to be dominant to other dogs .. if these other dogs dont give respect,, she’ll make sure they do haha,,, she never did any harm , usually just laid the other dog dog,, but the other owners dont understand the language of wolf.
We have a 6′ fence.. The hybrid did escape a few times years ago late night for a hunt
racoon’ usually but would always be back before morning. I had more trouble with the husky escaping.. he was a one person dog (me) and always wanted to be with me.. He didnt understand i had to work !!! So i often took him along.. Huskies are lots of work,, you better be dedicated or enjoy running,, if you do,, you’ll love it.
but there were more than enough times where i chased him several kms through the country side. haha.. In the end i always let him loose in the park,, he would never go more than 100meteres without coming back to check on me.. But always on full steam,, its what they were breed for,, working ,,,and they have to release this power to keep them balanced.
Sorry for the delay. Yes.. the hybrid is female, very intelligent.. From day one i showed her how to heal and she has obeyed since.. she is now 15. The huskey is a total different game.. I think it took me near 2 years training till i totally felt secure to let him loose.. although where ever there was a large field i always let him loose from the start ,,
syncro4rob are you able to have your dogs off a leash when you walk them. im thinking about getting eaither a wolf hybrid or a husky and i will train them from a young age but i kept reading online that it was bad to let em off leash so plz tell me your experience. also does your fence really need to be tall?
aw there so cute i want a wolf hybrid dog
the hybrid is so beautiful.. i want one so badly XD
Well, that completly defeats the purpose of phenotyping. A high content is exactly what it says. That animal will be wolf-like (especially in appearance) in almost every respect- behavior, appearance, breeding cycle, gait/build- you name it.
Yes, but then again, why even bother with content and phenotying then? You may get a well-bred pure wolf that is unusually outgoing- but it will still be a pure wolf in all respects. You may get an animal that shows every outward appearance of being a Malamute, and it may inherit a more intense wolf-like personality, but that will not make it a high content. It is the overall view. To say you have a lower content animal that looks wolfier than a supposed high content?
does the wolf-hybrid show extra aggression ? was she harder to train ?
Beautiful!
These are real half-wolves? Truly? they’re beautiful.
People seem to forget that you cannot always determine content through looks.
I’ve seen lower content WD’s that looked more ‘wolfy’ than those of high content.
It’s the general rule that higher content equals wolf like characterstics(speaking strictly physical in this case), but that’s not always the case.
A wolf-hybrid yes…a 72%er…? Maybe several generations from a pure wolf, but I would not consider her to be a high or upper mid-content wolfdog…a lower mid content…especially since she seems to enjoy car rides, lol…not something most wolfdogs go for! What color are her eyes?
Aw your dogs are really cute
xx

Very good video.

Omigosh! These two are the spitting images of my 2 year old 80+% hybrid, Tika-ani. (Tika-ani means “wolf” in the Inuit language.) Tika has the amber eyes, tho.
Tik gets very excited about car rides and walks too. He also reads me the riot act when I get home from work!! lol
We live in Indiana. We rescued him when he was approx. 2 1/2 months old, so we have no papers stating he is hybrid, but we have a sled-dog breeder/trainer in our town and she told us he was at least 80% wolf.

Tika has the amber eyes, tho!! We live in Indiana. He gets just as excited about car rides and walks. Sussie’s reaction with the head twist was very VERY familiar!!! lol
Tika also reads me the riot act when I get home.
people go on youtube and shoot their mouths off…those are deffinitly wolf hybrids
omg your dogs are beautiful..they look so loyal
Raven came from Indiana.. she is 72% wolf hybrid and registered with the American Wolf Hybrid Assoc.. and we have her family history documented back from 1985.. You make strong assumptions..
